Brendan Rodgers has been confirmed as the
new Liverpool Manager, replacing Kenny Dalglish, who was
sacked just over a fortnight ago.
The appointment comes after Rodgers
rejected an approach from the Anfield club on the 18th of May.
He steered Swansea to an impressive 11th
place finish in their first season in the Premier League, only 5 points behind
Kenny Dalglish’s Liverpool. The Swans caught the eye of many people with their
pass and move footballing style, earning comparisons to Spanish powerhouses FC
Barcelona along the way. Impressive wins against Arsenal, eventual league
winners Manchester City and Liverpool made the Northern Irishmen a serious
contender for the Anfield hot seat.
Three of his backroom staff will follow him
to Liverpool, assistant manager Colin Pascoe, performance analyst Chris Davies
and Glen Driscoll who’s part of the sports science/medicine department.
