Babel: Comolli behind my departure

Ryan Babel today revealed that Damien Comolli was behind his departure from Liverpool in January 2011.

Frenchman Comolli was relieved of his duties as director of football last week, leaving the club by 'mutual consent'.

Babel posted four updates on social networking site Twitter.  Firstly "So Comoli got fired at LFC?", followed by stating that it was "Good for LFC.. !". He then answered a question from a fan asking if he (Comolli) was instrumental in Babel leaving the club, to which the Dutchman replied "Yes HE was". The former Liverpool winger ended by saying "For him it was just business..".

Signed by Rafael Benitez in 2007, Ryan Babel spent 4 years at Liverpool, but failed to cement himself as a regular first team figure after his early potential. In January of 2011 he was sold to Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.

However, questions still remain over his desire to succeed at Liverpool and he may well be the only person he has to blame over his exit.
